Sonnet 43 Parody

Sonnet 43
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. A I love thee to the depth and breadth and height B My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight B For the ends of being and ideal grace. A I love thee to the level of every day’s A Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light. B I love thee freely, as men strive for right. B I love thee purely, as they turn from praise. A I love thee with the passion put to use C In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith. A I love thee with a love I seemed to lose C With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath, D Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose, C I shall but love thee better after death. D
How do I love coffee? Let me count the list.
I love thee plain, lacking sweetness and cream,
You make my heart happy as if in a dream.
My days are empty without thee in my midst,
When you are beside me, my mind can untwist.
You give brightness to days desperate for a gleam.
Though times may be trying, thy warmth makes me beam.
Thy scent is a potion that makes me feel blissed.
I love thee, oh coffee, with thee I am complete,
Why must I need thee to subsist?
No one, no nothing with thee can compete.
I have an obsession of thee I must shrive,
If I must ever lose thee, my heart will not beat.
Thy existence is what forces me to survive.
